Sterling’s basketball teams both played in the Geronimo Festival during the past week. Sterling’s boys fell to Snyder 73-47 on Thursday, Dec. 10. The Tigers returned to action on Dec. 12 against Frederick and came up short against the Bombers losing 84-60.

Athletic recruitment woes

(AP) - The personal touch that helps coaches sell their programs to blue-chip prospects is missing this year. Restrictions brought about by the pandemic prevent face-to-face communication between players and coaches. Staffs can’t visit high schools.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Jenks Public Schools issued an apology after its football fans received widespread criticism for not wearing masks or following social distancing recommendations during a state championship game on Saturday.

We have finally turned the calendar to December, and does the end of 2020 ever look good. Basketball should be bouncing around the state but once again Covid is rearing its ugly head and putting the brakes on some teams seasons.
