INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — There was another team out there that was marching through the season undefeated, that looked unstoppable at times, that had all arrows pointing toward a national title. COVID-19 put a halt to the undefeated dream.

On a recent Spring evening, vehicles crowded around Martin Field located at the end of Mighty Owl Ave. The sun was out, the temperature was just right and the bleachers were filled with cheering baseball fans.

There is an old saying that before you win a Championship, you have to lose one first. Now I don’t always buy into that theory but if anyone actually deserves a Championship, in my opinion, it would be Gonzaga’s men's basketball.

Elgin’s baseball team traveled to Lawton to compete in the 45th Annual Bo Bowman baseball tournament and walked way with third place. Elgin opened the tournament on Thursday morning and defeated Lawton High 9-0.
