Sixteen years ago, when Linda Swanner first mentioned the idea of starting a food bank to then-Elgin First United Methodist Church Pastor Coy Remer, the two probably did not see it operating through a global pandemic. But that is exactly what is happening, though not without precautions.

Elgin’s Lady Owls golf team traveled to Kingfisher to play in the Class 4A Regional golf tournament.

Kelly Langford, Jessica Diley and Hallye Bolan all made the cut and qualified for the State Tournament that will be held on May 5 and 6.

Elgin alumna Ariel McDonald competed in the NJCAA Region 2 golf tournament on Monday, April 19. Playing for Murray State College as a freshman, Ariel played her way into the NJCAA National Tournament that will be held in Daytona, Florida on May 10-13.
