FLETCHER - A memorial gathering for Wilma (Warner) Davis “Nanny” was held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at the Fletcher Funeral Home.
She was born Dec. 17, 1945, in Marlow to Albert and Lucille (Mooney) Warner. She graduated from Fletcher High School.
After high school, her many travels landed her in Tishomingo. Here she met her beloved husband, Don, and was married June 8, 1973.
She earned her Associate’s Degree in nursing from Murray State College in 1974. Her expansive nursing career spanned many areas of medicine.
Her final years in nursing led her to home health and hospice. This path led her home to southwest Oklahoma.
After her retirement from nursing, she continued caring for others through her Second Chance store in Sterling. Through here, she touched many more lives and breathed fresh life into the heart of her small town. Throughout her life her true passion of caring for others shined through to everyone she met.
She is survived by her children: Bart Thompson and his wife Sue, of Lawton; and Stacey Davis-Jay and her husband Wes, of Sterling; two brothers: Gene Warner, of Apache and Leroy Warner, of Florida; five grandsons: Tristan Jay, Alec Jay, Lucas Thompson, Jacob Thompson and Matthew Thompson; special friends: Pamela Harrell Watkins and Rosie Gray; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Davis; her parents: Albert and Lucille Warner; a brother, Joe Warner; and a sister Leona Taylor.
