ELGIN - At press time Tuesday evening, a tornado warning was issued for the Guthrie area. Live weather coverage on an Oklahoma City news station showed a huge, massive, ugly, black monster of a storm hanging above the Guthrie airport. In addition to the dangerous funnel sighting, warnings were also issued for golf ball sized hail. Softball sized hail pounded Piedmont. Yes, it's been a hail of a week in the weather department. Monday evening, Chief Meteorologist Mandy Bailey from KTEN Weather posted a graph on Facebook showing how May 2019 has far exceeded the average, typical Oklahoma tornado season.KTEN.com provides breaking news and weather information for the Texoma area. Bailey's graph showed the following data for Oklahoma warnings:

Tornado Warnings: 80 10-Year Average from 2008-2018: 45

Severe T-Storm Warnings: 337 10-Year Average: 199
