Former Elgin Public Schools teacher presented largest education funding package on house floor in Oklahoma's history

ELGIN - Seated in a high back chair tucked behind a glossy round dining table, Representative Toni Hasenbeck, District 65, is figuring out how to adjust between two worlds.

Attired in a modest dark dress, her honey blonde locks pulled up and pinned back, white pearls at her ear lobes with a matching strand looped around her neck, she fits the ideal picture of a professional political figure. Except on Thursday, June 6, she wasn’t at the capitol.

Her first session in the legislature had come to an end on May 23, allowing her the opportunity to leave the city for the summer. Even from the comfort of her own home, there’s an endless supply of work to be done.
