The first film I reviewed for print was 1996‘s Mission: Impossible, which saw Tom Cruise take the beloved 60s television series to the big screen with a story full of twists, turns and cutting-edge action sequences.

Since that first film, 22 years ago, the franchise has repeatedly tried to one-up its previous outing with more guns, more characters, bigger explosions and bigger, more dangerous stunts for Cruise to put his ever-aging body through. Until now.

The sixth film in the series, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, brings Cruise’s Ethan Hunt back into the spy game, once again tasked with saving the world from a maniacal criminal intent on killing millions of innocents to further his terrorist agenda.
