CYRIL - With guns drawn, law enforcement officials arrested a Cyril man after he fled from the scene of a vehicle accident last week.

Filed on June 14, court documents show that Joshua Steven Salyer, 38, of Cyril, was charged with a three-count criminal felony.

The charge includes count one, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs second and subsequent; count two, eluding/ attempting to elude police officer; and count three, reckless driving.

Information provided by Sergeant Snider with the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office states that at 6:31 a.m. on June 13, Deputy Fletcher made contact with two drivers involved in a non-injury vehicle accident at US Highway 277 and 120th Street in Fletcher.

After discovering that the collision had occurred at a location about a quarter mile back down the road, Deputy Fletcher reportedly asked the first unidentified driver to return to driver to return to the accident site. He then contacted the second driver, identified as Joshua Salyer, by his Department of Public Safety Temporary Driver’s License.

According to the report, Sergeant Snider arrived to assist and both he and Deputy Fletcher noticed that Joshua had “bloodshot watery eyes, clothing is disarray and had sluggish speech.”
