Basketball and wrestling season are just around the corner for Elgin’s boys and girls teams.

Basketball will tip off their season on Dec. 7 when they host the Altus Bulldogs. Both teams will play through the middle of December, with a trip to the always tough Dale Tournament early on the schedule. After the Owls host Newcastle on Dec. 17 both teams will not play again until after the holidays. The new year will start with Cache coming to town followed by a trip to Weatherford for the Weatherford Tournament. Homecoming with be on Feb. 4 when Bethany comes to town and Senior Night will be on Feb. 15 against Duncan.

The Regional Tournament will be played on Feb. 24-25. Wrestling will also start the first week of December when the high school team travels to Blanchard for the Blanchard Tournament. On Dec. 10 the girls team will travel to Cache as Cache will host the Cache Girls Tournament. The Elgin Grapplers Tournament will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8. The Western Conference Tournament for the high school and junior high teams will be held in Kingfisher on Jan.

14-15. Senior Night will be on Feb. 3 when Elgin will welcome Clinton to town. Feb. 11-12 will be the Class 5A Dual State Tournament followed by the girls Regionals on Feb 14-15. The boys will go to Regionals on Feb. 18-19. The 5A State Tournament will be held on Feb. 25-26 at a site yet to be determined.
