ELGIN - Twelve students were aboard an Elgin Public School bus when the driver reportedly made an improper turn resulting in a collision two miles east of Lawton last week.

Information released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol states that the collision occurred on Friday, April 5, at the intersection of Tacklebox Road and Mountain Ridge Road.

OHP Trooper Jacob Dickinson reported that a 2010 Bluebird school bus, driven by Mary Michelle Gridley, 50, of Lawton, was traveling southbound on Tacklebox Road at 7:08 a.m. when she made an "improper turn," attempting to turn left onto Mountain Ridge Road.
