Mr. Carpenter, 62, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, in Norman. Michael Dee Carpenter was born Aug. 31, 1958, in Elgin, in a little pink house. He attended grade school in Cement and high school in 1975. He married Darline Hill Oct. 28, 1982, in Cement. Michael worked in the oilfield from 1974 until he retired in 2007. He enjoyed life until the end. He enjoyed working and cars, but, most of all, he loved his family and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Darline Carpenter, of the home; five lovely daughters, Dee Jolley and her husband, Bryan Ragland, of Chickasha, Lizzie Hankins, of Lindsey, Michelle Galer, of Cement, Deeanna Carpenter, of Nebraska, and Tiffany Payne and her husband, Kevin, of Antlers; four brothers, Bobby Carpenter, Les Carpenter and his wife, Terry, Larry Carpenter and Allen Carpenter and his wife, Tammy, all of Cement; two sisters, Wanda Green and Rose Knight, both of Texas; four grandsons, Justin Knight, Matthew Jolley, Levi Hankins and Jacolby Galer; five granddaughters, Angie Hayes, Karmen Jolley, Sara Hankins, Christyona Galer and Autumn Driver; two great-grandchildren, Berkleigh and Boone Jolley; a great-grandson on-the-way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Juanita Carpenter; his aunt, Mary Blevins; his two uncles, Dee Bell and Dale Sorrels; and his sister, Shirley Morrie.
