FLETCHER- Mary Frances Wynn, 84 of Fletcher, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Sept. 22, 2018, at 8:15 p.m. after a lengthy illness. Chapel services were held at the Fletcher Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, with Bro. Harlon Woodall officiating. She was laid to rest at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin on Monday, Oct. 1. Mary was born August 28, 1934, East of Grandfield on the family home place to Robert Earl and Clara Odell Stewart. She was the fourth child of eight born to them. She grew up in the Grandfield, Frederick and Cache areas. She attended Cache school for six years until the family moved to Frederick. She attended Frederick Public Schools for two years until the family moved South of Frederick where she attend Victory Schools. Mary lost her mother in 1951 while giving birth to a sibling, at which time Mary dropped out of school for one year to take care of her two younger sisters while her father continued to farm the home place to support the family. She returned to Victory School the following year and graduated in the top of her class. She received the Valedictorian Award, which included an education scholarship but she chose to return the scholarship so someone else could use it while she stayed home to help her father with her younger siblings. After graduating, she was employed by Otasco and the Leather Goods Factory in Frederick. She met her future husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Wynn in 1961 through his brother that also worked at the Leather Goods Factory. They dated until July 10, 1962, at which time they were married in Vernon, Texas. They had three children, Robert Michael, Robert Lee “Robbie”, and Michael Anthony. Being a military spouse, she moved with her husband wherever the military sent them. They were stationed twice in Germany and at several bases in the U.S. They came back to Lawton in 1981 when her husband retired from the military. Mary enjoyed the outdoors, sewing, coloring, painting, and reading romance novels. She was a big part of her children and grandchildren’s lives. She is survived by her son, Michael Wynn and wife Jessica of Fletcher; five grandchildren: Justin Wells of Cache, Michael Wynn Jr. of Luling, Texas, and Jacob, Bristol and Michael III of Fletcher; brothers: Billy Stewart of Newcastle, Bobby Stewart of Waterloo, Ill.; sisters: Carol Gilpin of Hastings, Judy Reese of Cache; and one sister-in-law, Darla Wynn of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Wynn; sons, Robert Michael and Robert Lee Jr.; a sister, Nola Fay Long, two brothers, R. E. Jr. “Short” Stewart and Gilbert Wayne Stewart. Mary was a wonderful mom and grandmother who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
