FLETCHER - Funeral service for Jack Hutson, 89, of Fletcher, was held Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at the Fletcher Assembly of God Church. Burial followed at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home.  Jack J. Hutson was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Cache to A.J. and Neoma [Pullen] Hutson. He was the oldest of eight children. He began school at Spring Valley School before graduating from Fletcher High School in 1948. Jack married Zelma Clift on May 17, 1950. The two were married for 49 years when she passed away in 1999. The couple lived in Cache, where Jack worked in construction and then later at the Post Engineer Paint Shop on Fort Sill. He worked in Texas and New Mexico in the oilfield for 11 years before moving back to Oklahoma in 1962. He worked for Jack Nix for two years and then went to work for the H.E. Bailey Turnpike in June of 1965. Jack retired as a foreman in 1989. He was an active member of the Fletcher Assembly of God Church where he was a church janitor, a bus driver for the bus ministry, the Sunday School secretary and a deacon from 1964 until 2017. Jack helped remodel the church and, then later, helped with the building of the Family Life Center.  He enjoyed hunting quail and dove with his sons-in-law and going fishing. Jack was an avid Fletcher Wildcats fan, whether it be softball, basketball or baseball, and was even voted "Fan of the Year." He was a wonderful person and will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his four daughters: Gwenda Watts, of Lawton; Jane Griffin and her husband Dave, of Comanche; Sue Knight and her husband Frank, of Lawton; and Darla Hayes and her husband David, of Fletcher; a brother, Gary Hutson and his wife Betty, of Fletcher; two sisters: Sharon Cullars and Patricia Frasier, both of Texas; 11 grandchildren: Nathan Watts and Diana; Dessie Tucker and Greg; Jamie Lee and Kevin; Aimee Knight; Ben Knight and Darenda; Amber Hendrix and Keiba; Amber Marshall and Alex; Rondal Nix; Brandi Johnson and Evan; Emily Nix; and Levi Nix and Kayla; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was proceeded in death by his parents, A.J. and Neoma Hutson; his wife, Zelma Hutson; three brothers: Alvin, Jody, and Wesley Hutson; a sister, Bernice Gibson; and his son-in-law, Steve Watts.
