LAWTON - Now into his sixth term as County Commissioner, District 1, Gail Turner plans on completing three major infrastructure projects in the area over the next couple of years.

“We’ve got several projects going. We’ve got a big project on the north end of Trail Road that’s set for bidding in 2020. That’s a project we’ve already spent two to three years on planning,” Gail said. “There’s going to be some elevation changes for safety. The curves at Spencer Road and Trail and the curve north of there will be straightened for the project.”

While most of the essentials have already been finished to get started, Gail said projects like that one can normally take up to five years to complete. Another area that will get adjusted for safety reasons is the bridge out by the County Barn on Meers-Porter Hill Road, about 1/2 mile east of the intersection of Trail Road and Highway 17.
