The Chronicle has obtained evidence of at least one exchange of messages between Elgin High School teacher Eric Bradford and a minor student enrolled at the school. The message(s) were sent from Bradford to the student during the school’s Christmas break. Elgin police have examined the evidence the newspaper obtained.

Elgin school board officials plan to go into executive session during a regularly scheduled meeting Thursday to “consider the resignation of … Eric Bradford.” That meeting is open to the public and scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 in the board room at Elgin Schools’ Administration Building, 501 K Street, in Elgin.
