Gladys Brock, 77, of Apache, passed away Nov. 29, 2020, surrounded by family in Mountain View. Gladys was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Clarence and Ethel (Jackson) Lavene. They moved to Oklahoma when Gladys was young, and she attended and graduated from Fort Cobb High School. She married Aarta Brock, and to this union was born five children, whom she loved and adored.
Gladys was quite the shopper, enjoying every minute spent. She loved to collect chickens and had quite the collection. She planted mums in her tubs and enjoyed watching them bloom. Her pastimes included watching western movies and the Hallmark Channel. She was a wonderful cook and taught her family those skills. Family was important to her, spending as much time with each one and helping when she could. Gladys loved going to church and being with her church family. She was a Godly woman and loved the Lord. She was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Apache. Gladys has gone on to her heavenly home, but she will always live within our hearts.
Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Allen Brock and his wife, Brenda, Darrell Brock and his wife, Debbie, Kevin Brock and his wife, Calissa, and Mark Brock and his wife, Shawna; two brothers, Kenneth and Eddie Jump; three sisters, Janice Lavene, Deon Miller and Gwen Fouts; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Rebecca Sawyer; her grandson, Adam Brock; her great-grandson, Isaac Sanders; and her sisters, Linda Brock and Stella Davis. Graveside Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery in Apache. Les Claborn officiated. Services were held under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home.
