FLETCHER — Friends of the Elgin Community Library’s annual fall book sale is underway at the Fletcher Fairgrounds.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16-17, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 18, the book sale is expected to attract readers from across the area as well as neighbors from Texas and Kansas, said Elgin Community Library Director Leslie Durham.

“We are looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces at our sale and sincerely appreciate your support of the library,” said Jeanne Cook, Friends of ECL member.

Books, movies and a vintage school desk are among the items for sale at this year’s event.

In addition to multiple vendors, nine food trucks will be on-hand at the fairgrounds at different times. Those include BAM Bliss Authentic Mexican, Bella Nonna, Crystal’s Krazy Konez, Esté Bandito Tacos, Last Call (Wings, Burgers and Dogs), Lyn’s Lumpia, M&D Good Eats, Pasta Mama’s, and RedBone Indian Tacos.

Durham said transactions will be cash or checks only. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit library events as well future expansion endeavors.

Fletcher Fairgrounds is located at 501 W. North Drive in Fletcher.
