ELGIN - Elgin welcomed Bethany to town on Friday, October 8, for a District 4A-1 showdown against the Bronchos.
Bethany’s quarterback Taylor Heim hooked up three times with Jocelyn Malaska sandwiched around a three yard run from Jaden Gilliland to open up a 28-0 lead after the first quarter.
Elgin’s defense stiffened in the second quarter and only allowed a Dax Jaggers field goal to send Bethany into halftime leading 31-0.
Bethany was able to add two more touchdowns during the second half and were up 45-0 till Treyvon Crabtree scored for Elgin to arrange the 45-7 final.
“Bethany was a good football team and will be competing for a home playoff game! We have to keep grinding and play well down the stretch”, stated Coach Wyatt.
Elgin will travel to Clinton on Friday, Oct. 15 to face the Red Tornadoes.
Coach Wyatt had high praise for Clinton, “Clinton is the district favorite and are very talented. We’ve got to come out hot and battle against a good team.
