A fatality collision shut down the eastbound lanes on the H.E. Bailey turnpike this afternoon. According to a report by Trooper John Hoover, the accident occurred about 3:11 p.m. at mile marker 74, about 5 miles south of Chickasha.

A vehicle was disabled in the outside lane of traffic at mile marker 74 when a Dodge truck, driven by Brock Barger of Bixby, Oklahoma, had an obstructed view and struck the disabled vehicle. The impact caused the disabled vehicle to catch fire.

The driver from the disabled vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene due to massive injuries, by Medical Examiner Emma Prophet, and transported to the M.E.'s office in Oklahoma City. The deceased has not yet been identified as next of kin has not been made. Brock Barger was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation.
