LAWTON - A visitation and graveside service for Ella Marie Lavallee, 93, was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
Ella Marie (Kotch) Lavallee was born on Dec. 3, 1925, in Chattanooga, the daughter of Susie Phillips Kotch and John Allen Kotch.
Marie passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019, in Lawton.
Marie was raised in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School. An avid swing dancer, Marie met Gene Lavallee at a USO Club sponsored dance and the couple married on July 23, 1949.
Married for 64 years, Marie and Gene spent the majority of their married life in Lawton, but lived for several years in Lubbock, Texas, and Syracuse, New York.
A kind and gentle person, Marie was a wonderful mother to her three children. An accomplished seamstress and watercolor artist early in her life, Marie also brought her aesthetic sensibilities to her home and her amazing flower garden.
Marie was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Gene; and sisters: Ruth Graham of Modesto, Calif., Johnnie Scoggins of Fort Worth, Texas, Alice Welch of Lawton, and Gertrude Hall of Flagstaff, Ariz.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Eugene and Liz Lavallee of Kingston; Albert and Connie Lavallee of Lawton; and daughter, Linda Lavallee of Louisville, Ken.
Marie’s grandchildren are Jeffrey Lavallee, Mark Lavallee, Donovan Lavallee, Amy Dellova, Amber Yvonne Beck-Lavallee, Kaylee Martinez and four great-grandchildren: Tristen, Genevieve, Jason, and Chloe, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
