Shadowridge Estates residents have been ordered to evacuate their homes by Comanche County Emergency Management due to the threat of a large fire. Authorities report the fire is being blown rapidly into the development by extreme winds.

Comanche County Spokesperson Amy Hawkins said the county is working with the American Red Cross to set up a temporary evacuation shelter at Watchtaker Hall, 584 N.W. Bingo Road. Red Cross officials will be onsite at that location by 10 p.m.

Anyone in the vicinity of Shadowridge Estates is urged to evacuate the area immediately. Those not living in the area are asked to avoid the area altogether. Very strong winds could shift at any moment and change the direction of the fire.
