Elgin 62 Mac 47

LAWTON - Elgin’s Lady Owls traveled to Lawton to face the Lady Highlanders from MacArthur on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Elgin had defeated Mac when they traveled to Elgin one week earlier and was looking for a sweep of the Lady Highlanders.

Elgin raced out to a 16-7 1st quarter lead and survived a rough 2nd quarter to take a 34-19 advantage to the locker room at halftime.

Elgin and Mac played an almost even 3rd quarter but Elgin’s defense locked Mac down in the 4th quarter to complete the sweep and take a 62-47 win into the Christmas break.

Paige Pendley led all scores with with 23 points. Kailah Ballou added 12 points and Izzy Cummins scored 11 points in the victory.

The Lady Owls take an 8-1 record and the Number Two ranking in Class 4A. Elgin is off until they travel to Ada to participate in the Bertha Teague Tournament from Dec. 27 to Dec. 29.
