ELGIN - Survival Flight was dispatched to transport a Fletcher man injured in a single-vehicle accident last week. Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Ronald E. Morgan, 71, of Fletcher, sustained head injuries on Jan. 1, after failing to yield at a sign, continuing through an intersection, striking a dirt embankment and a fence. According to Trooper Drake Green's collision report, Ronald was left pinned inside the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado for close to an hour before he was able to be freed by the Elgin Fire Department. He was then transported by Survival Flight to Comanche County Memorial Hospital and admitted in fair condition. The accident is said to have occurred about 1 a.m., just south of Elgin, on NE Miller Road at NE Kee- ney Road. The cause of the accident is listed as failure to yield. The condition of the driver at the time of the collision is under investigation.
