ELGIN - Graveside service for former Elgin resident Dolores “Dee” Bauman will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at Fletcher Cemetery with Pastor Matt Kelly, Letitia Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Dolores “Dee” Bauman, age 91, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, in Oklahoma City. She was born Dec. 2, 1927, in Elgin, to Clarence and Ruth Laura (Grant) Hardzog.
She married Fred E. Bauman on Feb. 20, 1946, in Tonkawa. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1953 where Dee opened and ran a beauty shop in her home for 30-plus years. In 1989 both Fred and Dee retired and moved to Elgin to be with friends and family. They purchased an 80-acre farm and raised cattle.
Dee enjoyed entertaining, sewing, quilting and listening and dancing to country music. Dee was active in the Elgin chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as secretary/treasurer and Worthy Matron. She was a member of Richards Spur Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jim McCarty and his wife, Sharon, Mustang; and Steve R. Bauman, Edmond; daughter, Laura Mills, Edmond; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy Bauman; brother, C.C. Hardzog; two sisters, Wanda Ruth Seals and Alene Brown; and great-granddaughter, Emilee Bauman.
