Donna Shadoan served on council for 11 years

ELGIN - Word has been received of the death of Donna Lee Shadoan.

She was born in Chickasha on Jan. 7, 1955, to Donald and Wanda (Kinsey) Shadoan. She grew up in Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School in 1974.

After graduation, Donna began working with her mom at the Piggly Wiggly in Lawton and later went to work at the Elgin Discount Grocery, where she worked for 27 years.

She also worked for the United States Postal Service for a time until she got a job with the Fletcher School system as a Paraprofessional.

Donna eventually moved to the Elgin Public School system, where she worked and truly loved her students until her health began to fail.

She was very active in her community serving on the City Council for 11 years. She loved and took great pride in the city of Elgin.

In August 2018, Donna moved to Montevista and passed on to her eternal home on Febr. 27, 2019.

Internment was at the Verden Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home.

Donna is survived by her uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Donald and Wanda Shadoan.
