CANYON, Texas – The Cameron men's basketball team's 2019-20 season ended with a 105-68 loss to No. 3 West Texas A&M on the road. CU missed out on the Lone Star Conference Tournament for the first time in 10 years.
In Cameron's regular season finale, West Texas dominated from the tip, using an 18-3 run to take a 22-7 lead by the under-eight media timeout. The Buffs shot over 54% in the half and made 11 three's in the first half to lead by 23, 52-29, after the first 20 minutes.
The Aggies shot 35.5% from the floor in the first half, going 4-10 from three and 3-4 from the foul line. They were also out-rebounded 23-15 and turned the ball over 10 times by the break.
Kendall Scott had over half of CU's points in the first half, scoring 15 on 6-10 shooting from the field. Brock Schreiner added nine points on 3-3- shooting from long-range.
West Texas did not let up in the second half, scoring 53 points on 57% shooting from the field. They also went 9-18 from three and 10-12 from the foul line.
The Aggies end the season at 9-19 overall.
