ELGIN - Funeral Service for Bonita Kay “Bonnie” Morrison was held Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Elgin.  

Bonita Kay “Bonnie” Morrison left this life for her heavenly reward on Tuesday evening, Feb. 5, 2019. She has gone to join the love of her life to spend eternity together.

Bonnie was born Sept. 16, 1944, in Atchison, Kan. to Robert Louis Miller Sr and Mary Elizabeth “Mickey” Miller.  She was the third of four children.  She was raised in Kansas City, Mo.  She attended catholic school and graduated from Lillis High School in 1962.

On June 21, 1962, she married the love of her life, Carey Franklin Morrison. They had four daughters: Janie, Chrisy, Brenda and Kelly.  Bonnie was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.  She enjoyed a long life being a mother, grandma and great-grandma.

Her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren lovingly called her Grambo. She worked at Haggar Slacks in Lawton as a bottom stop operator from 1980 until they closed.

Then she went to nursing school and became a LPN.  She worked at the Cyril Nursing Home and then at Great Plains Pediatrics as a nurse. She enjoyed caring for her patients. In 2008, she retired from nursing and became a full-time grandma and great-grandma. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and arts and crafts.   

Upon the death of her husband, she took over CJ’s Liquor store. She enjoyed visiting with her loyal customers. Her employees at the store became a part of her family.   

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carey F. Morrison, her grandson, John Louis Simpson, her granddaughter, Jennifer Frizzell Dodson, and her grandson-inlaw Dustin Martin.  

Bonnie is survived by her four daughters: Janie Morrison, Elgin; Chrisy Frizzell and husband Steve of Duncan; Brenda Wiseman and husband Todd of Lawton; and Kelly Hunter and husband Aubrey of Elgin; a sister, Ms. C. Sue Miller, Kansas City, Mo.;two brothers: Robert Louis Miller Jr. and wife Carol, Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; and William B. Miller and wife Maureen, Kansas City, Mo.

Grandchildren: Patrick Simpson, Amanda Davis, Billy Simpson, Carlie Frizzell, Emma Martin, Bailey Frizzell, Brendan Wiseman, Roxanne Wiseman, Roddy Hunter and Holly Hill.

Great-grandchildren: Sean Simpson, Brennon Davis, JJ Simpson, Annemarie Simpson,  Harley Frizzell, Wyatt Shrock, Kimber Kessinger,  Nevaeh Chairez, Creed Martin, Liam Martin, Jett Frizzell and Finn Hill; and two more greatgrandchildren on the way.
