After a year off due to the pandemic, the Bo Bowman baseball tournament will be played again in Lawton. The tournament is in its 45th year and named after Bo Bowman who is a legendary baseball coach in Lawton history. He coached at Lawton High for six years and led five teams to State Tournament appearances in five straight years, 1962-1966.
This year’s addition of the tournament will have two pools of teams with Pool “A” being played at Lawton High and Pool “B” being played at MacArthur High School in Lawton. Pool A and Pool B runner-ups will meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday for third place, while the two Pool winners will play at LHS at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday for the Championship.
Lawton High, Ike, Elgin, Altus and Anadarko make up Pool “A.” Pool “B” will be made up of Mac, Ada, Cache, Guymon and Comanche. The weather looks not to have any of the “R” word in site, so it should be a good weekend to catch some high school baseball.
As always, stay safe and healthy.
