FLETCHER - Funeral service for Billy Ray Dees will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at Fletcher First Baptist Church, with Larry Thoma, Pastor of the First Assembly of God, Elgin, officiating. Burial will be at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Thursday evening, Jan. 9, 2020, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Billy Ray Dees, 73, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, in Oklahoma City following a brief illness. He was born May 12, 1946, east of Fletcher, on the Old Ripley Farm, to Marion William and Lola C. [Hise] Dees. He was raised west of Fletcher on the family farm where he lived out his whole life. Billy Ray was a mechanic by trade and an avid collector of old cars and trucks. He was the owner of Lawton Muffler and Brake. He enjoyed buy- ing, selling and trading old cars and trucks, auto racing, shooting and most of all just sitting around spending time with family and friends talking about the “Good Ole Days”! He married Sheila J. Gaines on June 24, 2004, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Being a Dad to his girls Jerri Rae and Carrie Ann was what he cherished most in his life. He was the “Most Amazing Dad” that his daughters could have ever imagined. He is survived by the “Love of his Life” Sheila Dees of the home; his two daughters, Jerrie Rae Tenequer of Norman; Carrie Ann Myers of Norman; three grandchildren: Dennis Reagan of Yukon; Kelli Reagan of Oklahoma City; Alex Okhovat of Colorado; Four great-grandchildren: Johnathin Byers of Elgin; Brayden Reagan of Norman; Angel Witt of Norman; and Callie Reagan of Norman. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Darrel Dees and wife Nita of Duncan. Billy Ray was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Lillie and Lola Mae Dees; and three brothers: Willie, Marion and Marvin Dees.
He was the owner of Lawton Muffler and Brake.
