APACHE - She may be small in stature, but 7-year-old Jensyn Hood of Apache, is big on heart! Jensyn has decided to give up her own Christmas wish of a giant doll house in exchange for an opportunity to help children entering into the foster care system and is asking for donations from the community to make it happen.

After watching a video about shoe boxes for Haiti, Jensyn was intrigued by how excited the Haitian children were when they received their shoe box full of small toys, coloring items and hygiene products.

Originally, she told her mother, Jamie, that she wanted to send every single child in Haiti a gift box, just to bring them joy. The plan has since been adapted and is now focused on providing “comfort totes,” specifically for children in Caddo and Comanche Counties who are going into foster care.
