Wanting to help their local community, Cyril FFA Chapter members created a new "Food for Families" program that will provide free ground pork for families with students that could benefit from additional food. A hay bale fire was reported Sunday on County Road 1480, southwest of Cyril. No injuries were reported and no wild land engine was available to assist. Cyril Fire Chief Gerard Dodson urges everyone to remember the hazards in the winter wild land fire season.

CYRIL - A grass fire burned 39 acres of pasture land southwest of Cyril on Sunday, Nov. 10. Firefighters from Cyril, New Hope and Apache Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the location at 21122 County Road 1480, at 1:11 p.m.

Carlie Morton has been chosen as the October Student of the Month by the staff at Cyril High School. She is the daughter of Ray and Jenny Morton. Her sib- lings are Michael Morton, a proud graduate from Cyril, and Corinne Morton.
